Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

  • An engine overhaul is a complete rebuild of your aircraft engine to restore it to like-new condition. It includes disassembly, cleaning, inspection, replacement of worn parts, reassembly, and full testing.

  • A top overhaul focuses on the cylinders, valves, and pistons. A major overhaul goes deeper—replacing or reconditioning every critical component, including the crankcase, crankshaft, and camshaft.

  • Most engines reach Time Between Overhaul (TBO) hours set by the manufacturer. However, excessive oil use, metal in the filter, power loss, or rough running are also signs it’s time.

  • Depending on engine type and workload, most overhauls take 6–10 weeks from start to finish, including teardown, inspection, machining, reassembly, and testing.

  • Every overhaul includes a full teardown, complete parts inspection, replacement of all mandatory components, dynamic balancing, test-run verification, and detailed documentation.

  • We use new, OEM, or FAA-approved overhauled parts, depending on the component and customer preference. Nothing goes back into your engine unless it meets exact factory specs.
